What is this?

This guide shows you how to install the Rehearsals Shopify app on your store with just one click. Once installed, you'll start capturing session replays and get AI-generated insights that improve user experience and increase conversions.

Before You Start

Any Shopify plan works - The Rehearsals app works with all Shopify plans including the Starter plan.
Create your Rehearsals account at app.runrehearsals.com to get your API credentials.
Have permission to install apps on your Shopify store.

Step 1: Install the Rehearsals Shopify App

One-Click Install: Visit the Rehearsals app in the Shopify App Store (Coming Fall 2025) and click "Add app".
Authorize: Give the app permission to access your store data.
The app will be automatically added to your Shopify admin.

Step 2: Configure the App

Open the App: In your Shopify Admin, go to Apps and click on Rehearsals.
Get Your Credentials: Copy your API Key and Organization ID from your Rehearsals Home.
Enter Credentials: Paste your credentials into the Rehearsals app configuration.

Step 3: Enable in Your Theme

In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
Next to your current (published) theme, click "Customize".
In the theme editor sidebar, scroll down to "App embeds".
Find "Rehearsals" and toggle it ON.
Click Save.

That's it! The Rehearsals tracking is now active across your entire store automatically.

Step 4: Verify It's Working

Test Your Store: Open your storefront in an incognito/private window and browse a couple of pages.
Check Home: Go to app.runrehearsals.com/home and log in. You should see sessions being captured immediately.
View Replays: New session replays will appear in your Rehearsals data folder.

Compliance Note

It's up to you to ensure visitors can opt-out of analytics if required by your local laws. Shopify's built-in cookie banner or any compliance app can help.
